Time for a rant
Just went to Taco Bell for a quick bite. I do that a lot. Got my food and my cup, and walked over to the drink dispenser. Two bubba’s just standing there, one with his back to the drink machine (he saw me coming, holding my cup) just chatting away. I walked up and stood there, expectantly assuming some shred of common sense would cause a tiny electrical signal to the doofus’ brain,...
Go go Google Maps
If you stop to think, don’t forget to start again. I found this on a developer’s blog, proving once again that companies that don’t take themselves so gosh-darn seriously seem to thrive… Google Maps Directions from New York to London Scroll down to the part after “Take Right at Long Wharf…” and dig the visual map to the right. Original post at EvBlog -...

That's more like it
The Twins finally figured out how to get their bats working. I guess the Yankees only had a limited number of pitchers that could hold them down, because Farnsworth sure stunk up the dome in the 8th last night. Twins 5, Yankees 1 Go Twins
Let's go Twins!
So the Twins have dropped the last two games to the hated Yankees. It’s 0 - 0 in the top of the 4th right now and Mussina took himself out because his uterus was bothering him. Need some hits, and we can take this one away from them and then get ready to beat up on Tampa Bay! Go Twins!

Recently a national-award-winning children’s book made news. Any book that wins a prominent award should make news but this one did it for the wrong reasons. A controversy arose because the book included the word scrotum [From Latin scrautum (quiver)]. Some self-professed protectors of human sensibilities felt that the book ought not to be in libraries — they felt the book was...

Another Easter
We hid the eggs in the yard. Followed the kids around with video cameras, pointing them toward the eggs that would be there next year if we didn’t help out a little. I actually found two eggs from last year while I was hiding this year’s bunch. One still had a quarter in it, the other had a hole chewed at each end. I wonder if the animal the could smell the jelly bean or piece of...
Swimming with the kids
Since its below freezing today, yes, today, April something, we are going to be swimming indoors. The Club has a place where you can drop your kids to do mindless things like air hockey and computer games, so we’ll force ourselves to get in a workout before we hit the water-slide though. When is spring again? Gotta love Minnesota.
To bring up a child in the way he should go, travel that way yourself once in a...

i know what it is
Well I have educated myself. I know what tumblr is, how it works and why I like it better than most blog tools I have ever seen or heard of. Simplicity. Trying to teach non-geeks how to use Blogger.com, I have done that. If I had known about tumblr, or if it were around back when I attempted that monumental task, I never would have told them what blogger.com was. I certainly wouldn’t...

tumblr
I just discovered tumblr - via Web Worker Daily. The article was called “5 steps to get yourself in the mood to work .” The idea was to post something here on tumblr saying ‘hey, i’m working, leave me alone.’ The also mentioned twitter, which I do sometimes, but more just to amuse myself that to have anyone read it or try to see what I am doing. The thing is, all...
